Research on Swiss CTI project: "IOP-24- Eye sensor contact lenses and portable device for continuous Intra-Ocular Pressure (IOP) measurement based on Goldmann applanation procedure, as well as processing and analyzing software tools" in a French and English speaking research team. This internship combined electronic design with medical research. Calibration and enhancements of a complex sensor system based on inductive coupling were performed. Focused on the system control logic, the system-host data transfer, and the software interface for controlling and data recording. With Matlab, a complete post processing chain for the calibration, evaluation and graphical visualization of the measurement results was established. The internship included a presentation of the project at the poster session of the CTI Medtech event in Bern, Switzerland. Gained experience in batteryless sensors, wireless data transmission, analog amplification and measurement processing as well as USB high-speed data transfer, software interfaces and signal processing with Matlab. Worked with logic analyzer and oscilloscope for analyzing and calibrating the measurement prototype, the Altera Quartus design suite for programming the control FPGA of the measurement prototype, as well as Java, C and Matlab for the software interface and post-processing tool-chain.
