I currently volunteer at Fruit Punch AI as an AI Engineer to improve on OCR performance for handwritten Devanagari script.FruitPunch AI is a global AI for Good Community with more than 4000 AI engineers in over 70 countries. FruitPunch AI crowdsources AI solutions for impact organizations, like detecting poachers with autonomous drones for rangers in South Africa or detecting wildfires with ESA, etc. By teaching applied AI through real-world ‘AI for Good’ challenges, FruitPunch AI is building a global community of engineers willing and able to solve humanity’s greatest challenges.

I analyse complex data sets to extract insights, build predictive models, and inform strategic decision-making across various sectors, including NGOs, medical imaging, and F&B. I am currently engaged in multiple projects that focus on developing tailored analytics solutions and improving data accessibility for stakeholders. Through my analytical expertise, I aim to support organizations in making data-driven decisions that align with their strategic objectives.Some of the techniques I have been using: web scraping, image segmentation, image processing, EDA, dashboards analytics, predictive modeling, etc.

S2DS is a fast-pace, project-focused program aimed at helping STEM researchers transition into data science careers. I worked as part of a team of six to understand client needs, convert business challenges into targeted data science tasks, and implement solutions using agile project management methodologies. Our client was EPRI, a prominent non-profit energy research organisation in the U.S.- Created a data processing pipeline from the ground up to convert highly diverse and high-resolution aerial images for land-use and land cover (LULC) classification.- Streamlined machine learning experiments using MLflow to train 11 different residual neural network architectures for semantic segmentation, adjusting various parameters.- Presented optimised workflow to the client for processing data and making model predictions on new images, which cut LULC labelling time by 80%.- Provided weekly updates through presentations, delivered a comprehensive report, and developed a well-documented Python package to ensure a seamless transition to the client.

My research stood at the frontier between Data Science, Physics and Environmental Science.- I used statistics and machine learning techniques to detect and explore the variability of specific ocean features from over 50 terabytes of data from earth system models and satellite imagery.- I successfully built a working pipeline to map ocean fronts from satellite imagery. The resulting multi- decadal dataset was published in Nature Scientific Data in 2023.- I cooperated with the Terres Australes and Antarctiques Françaises to identify regions most suitable for a system of marine protected areas around the French Scattered Islands in the Indian Ocean.- Presented my research at 11 international conferences and workshops.
