Florencio Ceballos is sociologist working on educational innovation, citizen engagement and information and communication technologies (ICTs) as tools for development of poor and marginalized communities. He has also worked extensively on issues of youth, violence and conflict in East and North Africa, Latin America, MENA and South East Asia. Before joining IDRC he was director of research at Ekhos I+C Consultants, where he worked on bringing technology based development opportunities to marginalized communities. Ceballos has taught sociology of education, sociology of communications, and ICT4D at several universities in Chile. He currently is a Senior Program Specialist for the Knowledge Innovation Exchange KIX initiative with IDRC and the Global Partnership for Education.
