Since graduating from OHSU in 2002 I have worked in several areas of dentistry. I have been with the same family practice for over 15 years. I've been a dental hygiene educator for over 13 years, worked in public health for 5 years and held office in the Oregon Dental Hygienists' Association for 14 years. My greatest love in dentistry next to teaching patient care, is serving the underserved. I enjoy being involved with such projects as Mission Of Mercy, Great Shape! Inc. and Medical Teams International. I assist student teams at the Salem Boys and Girls Club and/or Salem Free Clinic weekly. I also lead a student group overseas to a developing country once a year. We have gone to Africa, Grenada, Romania and Honduras and Jamaica several times.My goals are:*To help educate and encourage students to be the most skilled and compassionate oral health care providers they can be. *To help arrest oral diseases and motivate my patients to make a difference in their overall health and well being.*To show all people loving kindness and give the best possible quality care no matter where I am serving.I am proficient in all dental hygiene services including non-surgical periodontal therapy; Dentrix, Fuse and Eagle Soft software programs; Dexis sensor and Scan-x digital radiology; Sidexis cone beam CT scan; intra-oral photography and clinical dental hygiene instruction.
