I am a dedicated student of technology and applying it to solve a need or increase efficiency. I enjoy keeping my hands dirty and pursue extra curricular activities that keep me abreast of the current technology trends. While I am highly technical, I have spent many years in the field consulting with customers and have developed my people skills. Being highly technical and being able to digest a need and communicate ideas clearly, has made me an anomaly, in that I find few people able to do both.My recent achievements consist of successfully delivering Change Healthcare's API platform, in the form of an API Gateway and a customer facing web marketplace. These solutions being deployed in cloud infrastructure. Not only were the platforms delivered, but a true DevOps organization around the platform. My team engineered, delivered and operated the platform in all environments, including production.These platforms are enterprise cross cutting solutions and act as facilitators to the rest of the organization. As such, the platforms have multiple different types of customers, internal teams and external customers. Each would have to have processes developed to reduce adoption friction and management of quality.Being one of if not the first team within Change Healthcare to achieve this, led to many challenges that needed to be overcome. In order to break down the organizational mind set of disparate teams managing environments/portions of the life cycle, new processes and governance had to be instigated and implemented. Having achieved this has dramatically sped up the product delivery life cycle and improved the quality of the deliverable at the same time, reducing the gaps in communication between processes.Previous projects have also garnered acclaim in the press, like ICGCommerce's multi-tenant web based workflow solution, that I personally invented, coded and deployed. This system is still in heavy use after 10 years and has yet to be surpassed.Working for UBS Bank I developed the architecture for a new trading desk that integrated stock and bond trades from multiple disparate systems and integrated them into a single real-time web based UI. As web pages are not normally real-time, a long polling and then web socket techniques were implemented for the first time. This negated the need for specialty electronic terminals and allowed the use of commodity PC desktop hardware running web browsers to be used. This saved UBS considerable costs in per desk and scaling their operations.
