Senior Network Security Engineer leading as Subject Matter Expert at this multi-tenancy data center location with strong DMZ, Firewall, and local and wide area networking expertise with multiple vendors. Daily duties include facilitating customer engagement, analysis to reveal business requirements, designing networks and firewall rules, planning budgets, deployments, and upgrades, while implementing solutions for customers. Using network and security best practices and procedures, responsible for the research, planning, modeling, simulation, data flows, design, installation, maintenance, creation of governance documentation, management and coordination of the network infrastructure, architecture, and security. Served as the Senior Engineer at DCAA, Millington, Tennessee, in one of two data centers for approximately 4500 employees. I provided services in the area of Systems/Network Design, Architecture, and Configuration and Implementation for a mixed Datacenter including Cisco Switches and Routers, F5 Big-IP and Cisco A10 Load Balancers, Palo Alto Firewalls, and Juniper VPN Concentrators. This location housed approximately 100 Servers of both physical and virtual machines, using both Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare Virtualization on various architectures including Dell servers and Cisco UCS chassis, with Fabric Interconnects. I also provided administration for Cisco equipment running VLAN’s, Routers, VPN's, Firewalls, Wireless Access Points, and LAN protocol analysis (using CompuWare Network Vantage, CompuWare Application Expert, and Network General Sniffer). My administration experience at DCAA also included areas such as VMWare, VCSA, ESX 6.5, Red Hat Linux, Orion SolarWinds Monitoring, Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, Enterprise Server Operating Systems, IIS and Apache Web Servers and Services, SharePoint Server, SQL Database Server, Windows 10,7, 2000, and XP Desktop, various vendor specific application servers, various in-house developed application servers, and backup processes including tape and disk. I was lead engineer for various initiatives such as Cisco PIX Firewall, Cisco Routers and Switches, 3Com Routers and Switches, SharePoint, SAN Storage, Test Environments, VMWare and Hyper-V Virtualization, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Desktop Software and Configuration, Patching, and evaluating new technologies and services. I received numerous awards during my 19yr DCAA career.

Provided consulting to the Navy Bureau of Personnel Program Management Officer (LtCmdr) advising on technology matters as a member of a three engineer team reporting to the program management officer in areas such as planning, configuration, redundancy, reliability, upgrade paths, agreements with other elements, Cisco PIX Firewalls, email, PKI, DMS, etc.. Provided Network Design, Architecture, and Engineering skills as needed to assist with LAN and WAN equipment configuration and installation for operations element.

Performed installation and configuration of 3Com and Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, provided Novell and Windows server administration, IIS 4.0 Web server admin, and desktop support for over 100 person staff. Planned for and completed migration of Novell and WindowsNT servers from clone pc's to Dell Servers with RAID arrays and redundant power. Upgraded shelf style server racks to full height rack enclosures from Black Box and Dell. Specified, ordered, and installed first UPS system in Memphis Server Room using APC's Symmetra (coordinated electrical also). Worked with cabling contractors to install small and large network equipment racks and multimode fiber for connectivity improvements. Implemented Virtual Lans to seperate desktop traffic from server traffic using 3Com and eventually Cisco equipment. Completed the general modernization of the facility during time of employment.

Served as a member of a 4 person team in the process of implementing Novell GroupWise 5.2 Messaging to an international user base and approx. 900 local users at the Memphis Southwind building. Provided maintenance, backup, and troubleshooting for 4 Novell servers with 15 Post Offices. Directly supported executive clients as needed, often configuring complex calendaring, remote connectivity, synchronization with PDA's, and performing migration of individual mail from older GroupWise, POP3 mail accounts, and Lotus Notes cc:Mail accounts.
