I joined the Deepwater Horizon Response shortly after the incident occured in 2010, and held multiple roles in the organization. Initially I was brought in as a contractor and then hired to lead planning and performance management for Florida before assuming progressively larger roles across the region in planning, operations, and leadership of the incident (ICS Roles: RUL, Deputy PSC, PSC, OSC, Deputy IC and IC). The truly unique part of this experience was working closely with so many organizations outside of the company which included: Federal Agencies, State Agencies and Organizations, Tribal Representatives, and a myriad of Local Representatives. The teamwork and collaboration in this organization was outstanding and I am thankful to have been a part of it.
