Certification Specialist Ii
Responsible for providing leadership and assistance to Certification Specialist I employees as well as performing additional duties and responsibilities as they relate to the Housing Choice Voucher Program. The Certification Specialist II position requires mastery of the full range of Certification Specialist I duties including the ability to perform the specific tasks and responsibilities associated with the specialized desks. In addition to being able to perform all the representative duties of a Certification Specialist I, this position is responsible for the following additional tasks. 1. Review the file of each participant for internal consistency and completeness prior to recertifying program eligibility. E b. Ensure the timely and accurate completion of each participant’s annual review. E c. Manage the Mod-Rehab and Project-Based programs, including communication and training for building managers and case managers regarding documenting eligibility, both initial and continuing. E d. Prepare and review HAP Contracts for buildings; communicate with project sponsors and SHA Legal Department re: contracts and requested modifications. E 2. Engage in dispute resolution with landlords, neighbors and participants. Communicate directly with participants and landlords during those occasions when the Certification Specialist I cannot satisfactorily resolve an issue or a problem and escalation to a higher level is required. E 3. Document participant noncompliance or suspected fraud; prepare the SHA case in appeal hearings; assist in presentation of case at hearings.
