As an engineer on the Vinyl Crowdfunding team, I built external tools to reduce friction for artists looking to release their music physically and internal tools to help my teammates get more done. Later, I did foundational work to enable playlist listening on the web, including caching design for high-churn playlist data, building out the initial skeleton of the microservice back end, and building a responsive front-end layout with Vue. I was a member of the front-end working group, and the accessibility working group.The stack was a decade-old, completely bespoke Ruby web application with various front-end styles from vanilla javascript and HTML to Knockout with Liquid templates to Vue with Typescript, with version control in SVN, and an array of odd internal tools.

At Coverhound I built internal tools for our insurance agents and for other companies' insurance agents as well. I led a team building a custom CRM for our call center, which eliminated our need for Salesforce and saved the company hundreds of thousands of dollars. I architected a restructuring of application configuration data to unify four independent platforms into one application, then designed and implemented the admin interface used to manage the same. I led a team to build a self-service portal for the second-largest insurance company in the US, integrating our cyber insurance platform with 3rd party tools for payment processing and subscriptions.The stack was Ruby on Rails, React and Redux.
