In our work with you, our Consulting Directors will first conduct their due diligence by gathering key information before starting an on-campus assessment and evaluation process. They will analyze organization charts; position descriptions; process and procedures documentation; policy statements contained in the academic Catalog and statements and perceptions of concern prior to our arrival on your campus.We will review current findings of external audit reports from the A133 single audit for assessment of regulatory compliance. The Consulting Director who partners with your institution will digest and dissect this information with critical thinking and the wisdom of their extensive expertise and experience prior to starting the on-campus portion of the evaluation and assessment work.Typically, the focusEDU Consulting Director(s) will spend a contiguous four-five days on campus to gather information; conduct in-depth discussions with key constituents including academic leadership, peer directors in admission, registrar, student financial services and academic advisement components of your institution.We evaluate and assess business practices to ensure proper alignment of practices and data for all regulatory compliance reporting needs. The Consulting Director will spend substantial time talking “operations and processes” with the staff who actually conduct work at the operational level. It is focusEDU’s business philosophy that unless we gather information as the micro-level that we do not have a solid basis for making recommendations at the macro-level (our Comprehensive Report after our site visit).

Greenville, South Carolina Area

Responsibilities/Oversight• Senior leadership within Enrollment Management division• Efficient and compliant administration of over $98 million in federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs ($73 million of which are institutional scholarship and grant funds) to undergraduate day, undergraduate evening, and graduate students• Enrollment Management research and reporting to include Common Data Set, IPEDS, and comparative/benchmarking research and analysis (data as well as visual analytics via Tableau)• NCAA Division I financial aid compliance and administration in coordination with associate athletic director for NCAA Compliance• Development of strategic financial aid awarding plan to meet enrollment, retention, and net tuition revenue goals in coordination with Human Capital Research CorporationAccomplishments and Service• Developed and successfully implemented an aggressive plan to automate the financial aid packaging for undergraduate day, undergraduate evening, and graduate programs; result was reduced time to award the incoming class from seven (7) days to less than two (2) hours• Introduced multiple efficiencies in office procedures and processing that resulted in the ability to eliminate three (3) FTE positions• Instituted monthly reconciliation procedures internally between financial aid, bursar, and financial services (general ledger) as well as externally with the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, the South Carolina Tuition Grants Commission, and the U.S. Department of Education’s Common Origination and Disbursement system• Successfully managed the transition from the Federal Family Educational Loan Program to the Federal Direct Loan Program• Developed a successful model for institutional financial aid budget planning, including projections of retention, new student matriculation, increased demonstrated need of families, etc. resulting in significantly improved integrity throughout the operating budget planning process
