Fo-Ching Lu is President of SYL Foundation, a nonprofit organization she formed in 2008 that combines compassion and philanthropy with strategic grant-making to advance quality health care and education for all. She believes it is a privilege to fuel positive change in the local community as well as internationally. Fo-Ching also works as General Counsel of Yen Li, LLC handling a variety of legal and financial matters.Prior to her return to the Seattle area, she was Intellectual Property Counsel for the French luxury company, Chanel, first in New York City, and then in Geneva, Switzerland, where she established a new in-house legal department. Fo-Ching began her career with Greenberg Traurig LLP's Intellectual Property group and worked for nonprofits in New York City. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese, and holds a J.D. from Cardozo School of Law (Yeshiva University) where she was Articles Editor of Cardozo Law Review. She graduated with honors from Santa Clara University with a B.S. in political science and minors in Japanese and psychology. She also has a graduate certificate from University of Washington in nonprofit management.Fo-Ching has served as Vice President and board member of the Asian Bar Association of Washington (ABAW). Her personal interests include adventure travel (summited Mt. Kilimanjaro’s Uhuru Peak), photography, and interior design.
