Responsible for overseeing the implementation of Bentley 2D and 3D Computer Aided Design across the multi-disciplined Architectural and Engineering design departments, radically changing the way production information was conceived, produced and presented. Growing the system from a modest 3 station cluster to a PC based network of 150 users.An exciting and collaborative exercise requiring meticulous project management with one of several challenges to overcome being managing the change process and users' and managers' expectations, while ensuring projects were still delivered on time and budget.Following the successful implementation, my duties continued with the day to day management and development of the variety of interlinked CAD applications. Developing protocols, procedures and workflows to maximise return on investment.Audit analysis calculated an annual saving of £300,000 in technical fees.

I returned to the North East to take up the position of Computer Manager with internationally renowned architect and urban designer FaulknerBrowns where I was responsible for the implementation and development of Computer Aided Design and associated solutions helping the practice to deliver innovative ground breaking architecture to a worldwide audience.

I served a four year technical apprenticeship in Engineering prior to being appointed to Production Engineer for Marine Engineers Clark Kincaid in Greenock on the West Coast of Scotland where I assisted with the development of emerging CAD/CAM technology for the design and machining of complex ship engine components by CNC multi axis machines.
