We seek to transform Cameroon into a work site for economic emergence, that is, "a country that creates and distributes wealth fairly; a country that offers equal development opportunities to all; a country with strong and sustainable growth; a country with enhanced food security, in a word, a country that ensures happiness for all.We are part of a global network that shares the vision of the SDGs, core identity and purpose and that has been at the forefront of sustainable development. I was able to make progress through participatory and engagement approach and the use of many transformational tool that facilitate group integration. Trust building through inclusion (education) in the Bamenda district of Cameroon was establish. I work with traditional institutions as mediums to implement and appropriate strategies. We jointly created a vision of success for the future that serve as boundary conditions for them to move towards that success and address the deficiency in leadership (what does success mean to them). I worked with the commune elders and leaders to energize change in their organisations using a participatory approach. I energise them to develop processes and structures that not only meet their needs but also support the ability of the Bamenda future generations to maintain a healthy system. I work alongside these processes because I can only learn something only when I can produce results that they were unable to provide before I strive to work and learn by combining Strategic Sustainable Development concepts and the ability to energize change. The synergy that I derive from these two themes empowers me with both the comprehensive knowledge about sustainability as well as the leadership skills required to engage and motivate others when working towards sustainability. My knowledge of The New Sustainability Advantage was applied while on a project with Scandic Hotel Kalmar: I co-create tools for the company that generate greater benefits over time and outperform its competitors.I made Scandic Kalmar guests and customers feel they share the company’s values through sustainable customer relationships Although Scandic benefited and achieved a higher level of productivity from sustainability; I provided a framework that constantly improve its sustainable… Show more My knowledge of The New Sustainability Advantage was applied while on a project with Scandic Hotel Kalmar: I co-create tools for the company that generate greater benefits over time and outperform its competitors.I made Scandic Kalmar guests and customers feel they share the company’s values through sustainable customer relationships Although Scandic benefited and achieved a higher level of productivity from sustainability; I provided a framework that constantly improve its sustainable practices towards reducing its environmental impacts and achieving its vision.Adopting sustainability in its operations I made Scandic Kalmar ahead of its competitors, this reduces risks for themselves as well as their reputation brand increases. Customers are getting more and more aware of the environment and actively choose sustainable alternatives, especially the younger generations. To improve scandic revenue my project team and I introduce the concept of solar panels increase their revenue and cut cost on power. For instance, by investing in solar panels, Scandic shows that they care for the environment, and their brand will grow stronger with people sharing the same values. Minimizing the use of materials and actively choose better alternatives (e.g. meeting the SWAN-criteria’s), will lead to reduced costs for waste and transportation. We introduce a Scandic Kalmar trainee employee program concerning sustainability. The outcome was many of Scandic worker values were quickly align with that if scandic through the training and follow-up program.It makes employees feel proud to work for Scandic, and this significantly increase their productivity.it also contributes to the different energy and material reductions for the company.
