Foluke Michael holds an MSc in Project Management from the University of Salford, United Kingdom, and a BBA specialising in Building a Tech Startup from Nexford University. She also completed a Certificate in Design-Led Strategy: Design Thinking For Business Strategy And Entrepreneurship from The University of Sydney, Australia. With a background in Civil Engineering, she has become a prominent figure in promoting sustainable businesses & social impact initiatives in Africa.As the CEO of Caterina de' Medici Africa, Foluke is committed to propelling Africa's transition to a Green Economy. She began her PhD journey in 2024 with a research focus on Green Economy & Digital Sustainability. She is a pioneer of 'Art for Social Good'. She designed and implemented 'Art for Climate Change,' launched in September 2020 by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed. Additionally, she leads the Creative Youth Community Development Initiative (CYCDI), which focuses on Education for Sustainable Development & Climate Action. Foluke's extensive collaborations with the 1986 Nobel Laureate in Literature, Prof. Wole Soyinka, on various children's and youth projects, including The Vision of the Child, underscore the quality and impact of her work. She spearheads initiatives under CYCDI towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, such as Solution17 and the Green Entrepreneurs.Her projects have won recognition globally, including the United Nations SDG Award as Innovator & the University of Salford Alumni Achievement Award.With a fervent commitment to combatting climate change, Foluke's projects, Art for Climate Action and Naija Climate Now, have received support from the UN and Diplomatic Missions. Her initiative "Solution17 for SDGs" has been recognised twice by the UN as an exemplary practice for SDG implementation. In 2023, she led a Tech-Driven Art for Climate project in partnership with New York University Abu Dhabi.She was recognised as the Hero of Climate Action by the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) in October 2020.Foluke's dedication to fostering creativity and innovation among children and youth is evident in her work, which aims to prepare them to lead positive changes in the future. She is deeply passionate about sustainable development in Nigeria, as reflected in her books "The Green Entrepreneurs" & "The Book of Acts: In the Beginning, The Planet," published between 2021 & 2023. Through her advocacy and projects, Foluke is a global changemaker, empowering youth, women, and entrepreneurs to address global challenges.
