Southampton Solent

I coordinated Solent Press, a small publishing arm and unit embedded into the university's creative agency, Solent Creatives. The unit was established to help students gain new skills and experience live client work. Alongside I assisted in marketing, managing and administrative related activities for Solent Creatives and various courses.𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀:◦ 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹: manage the day to day operational aspects of the Solent Press publishing unit◦ 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Liaise and develop links with businesses, printing services, publishers and press contacts to pitch the unit and source projects for students. ◦ 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: recruit, manage and run workshops around WordPress, InDesign, social media and branding for a talented pool of writers and creative students. Solent University

I was asked to teach a Unit in magazine design for one of the creative writing courses at Solent. The Unit taught the fundamentals of magazine design, introduced students to design software, and challenged each of creating an 8-page mini-magazine.𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀:◦ 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴: organise the unit's timetable, rooms and internal course page and resources.◦ 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: create teaching materials about magazine design, design software and print production.◦ 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: deliver an hour of research/taught elements followed by design workshops about InDesign and various online tools.

Solent Creatives

The role involved assisting in marketing, administrative and creative related activities for the university's creative agency - Solent Creatives. Alongside, I assisted in developing digital platforms and print materials for showcasing student work and various courses.𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀:◦ 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: assisting the agency co-ordinator with operational aspects of Solent Creatives inc answering queries, pitching the service and updating the agency's CMS.◦ 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Liaise with business to develop links, pitch the service and source publishing-related creative opportunities for students.
