Being the vice-chairperson in the Social Service Team allows me to develop my leadership skills. I have learned to stay calm when facing emergencies. Giving correct instructions and making the right decisions are crucial when facing accidents. Our team once had a nice meal with the elderly. We had to pay attention to their situation as they could not eat too fast. I guided my teammates to cut the food into small pieces, however, one of the elderly suffocated. He choked due to the size of the food. My teammate and I had a site inspection and knew that they have first-aid in place. I called the first-aid through the guidelines immediately. Fortunately, the elder recovered soon. Making the right decision not only solve the problem but also established my image as a reliable leader instead of a person who only follows the commands. I have gained valuable experience in problem-solving, developing my leadership abilities and take care of the others.
