Miguel (“Mike”) A. Fonseca is a tax partner based out of Miami, Florida. Mike has over 30 years of experience within the South Florida market place. Mike joined Deloitte in 2002 and previously worked for Arthur Andersen. Mike is currently a client service partner and serves as US Global Tax Strategy leader for Deloitte Tax LLP and serves on the U.S. tax management committee. Mike served as the U.S. Chief Global office from 2021 through 2023 and inbound leader from 2019 to 2021. Mike served as America’s tax and legal leader for Deloitte, from 2011 through May of 2019. He also served on Deloitte's Global Tax and Legal Executive from 2015 through May 2019. Mike has served on Deloitte LLP's nominating committee twice. He has extensive experience serving multinational clients as they structure and maintain their cross border investments. He has served as an instructor for fellow professionals within the Firm and has had speaking engagements at events sponsored by the Mexican and Florida institutes of public accountants. Mike also has broad experience working on cross border acquisitions, operations and business expansions. He has assisted large U.S. and non-U.S. multinationals with their tax provisions, transfer pricing, global tax compliance and structuring their operations efficiently on a global basis.Mike has serviced clients across a broad range of industries and market segments. His clients have primarily included clients in the aerospace, retail, manufacturing, financial services, transportation, media and telecommunications industries.Mike is fluent in Spanish. Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in accounting from Furman University, and he earned his Masters of Science degree in Taxation from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.
