• Leads Data Science & Advanced Analytics Team, focused on applied research leveraging machine learning and large datasets for developing, evaluating, monitoring, and productionizing “next generation” decision-support tools for bettering patient care and hospital operations. • Responsible for managing portfolio of research and operational projects (~40 at any given time).• Applied expertise in machine learning to predict patient outcomes after orthopedic treatment to provide doctors and patients information during treatment planning and follow-up to facilitate shared decision-making and improved planning. • Leveraged diverse data from electronic medical records, hospital registry data, financial claims, surveys, text messages, wearables, and accelerometers to fulfill analytics needs of executives, surgeons, infection control, referral services, external partnerships, etc. • Conducted and published health and wellness research to help form of our hospital’s value proposition, support contract negotiations with insurance companies, and inform policy through public comments submitted to Medicare (e.g., worker productivity, patient goals, at-home patient monitoring).

Thought leader in data science and health policy through various forums including academic journals, national and international conferences, and policy-related technical expert panels and work groups (e.g. AI in quality measurement for NQF/Yale, Overall Hospital Star Ratings for Medicare).

• Computational methods expert tasked with forming, managing, and analyzing the Behavioral and Health Genomics Center’s repository of genetic profiles and linked behavioral data (500k+ people, 20TB+) for conducting genome-wide association studies and developing and evaluating predictive “polygenic scores”. • Directed the purchasing and upgrading of our Center’s on-prem 136-core Linux server.• Product manager and research lead for a homegrown smartphone app for collecting behavioral data using scientifically validated surveys and games; hired and managed developers and designers.

• Conducted research on wearables and smartphone app data from over 2 million users involving sleep, physical activity, illness, goals, caffeine, mood, and real-time Bluetooth-derived social interactions.• Designed and analyzed A/B tests sent 100,000+ users measuring the impact of push notifications and goals.

Designed and programmed database to organize disclosures meta-analysis; collected data on online regulatory violations for ongoing investigations.

Worked for the Civil Division's Appellate Staff. Conducted basic legal research on active appellate cases. Designed and implemented a task management system allowing attorneys to more efficiently share documents and information on active casework.
