The Undergraduate Research Experience on CAmpus (URECA) is a prestigious university wide undergraduate research programme established in 2004 to cultivate a research culture and nurture research capabilities early in undergraduates’ university education. Students are invited to take part every academic year as long as they meet the cGPA requirements.In this programme undergraduates will gain invaluable hands-on research experience under the mentorship of faculty of their choice in their chosen field of research over a period of 11 months.My research paper is structured similarly to a Creative Writing Dissertation with a Critical Exegesis, centred around the concept of autoethnography and its role in the creative nonfiction genre. My amazing research supervisor is Dr Prasanthi Ram, who is a lecturer based in the Language and Communication Centre at NTU.

Upon disrupting my NS duties back in 2022 to pursue my undergraduate studies, I returned to my previous unit – SAF Pers Hubs – to serve the remainder of my 3 months of National Service during my summer break, once again, leading the HQ's Media Team. Thereafter, I was promoted to the rank of Corporal First Class (CFC), and received an 'Outstanding' for my performance grading in my Certificate of Service, Transcript and Testimonial.

Due to my background in mass communication, I was appointed as Media Team / Visual Comms NSF in-charge of my unit – HQ SAF Personnel Hubs – the HR administrative HQ for the whole of SAF. I work alongside my peers to craft engaging videos, posters, infographics and lend my expertise in advising my colleagues and superiors in these areas. My most notable achievement would be producing, filming, directing and editing SAF Pers Hubs' Corporate Video 2022, as part of a 2-man team. I have also received the Best Soldier of the Month Award for January 2022, as well as the prestigious Commanding Officer (CO) Coin from my CO for my contributions toward the unit.

Assisted the then-Executive Music Director of 987FM with music re-ripping tasks using the industry-standard radio system - Zetta. Inserted markers in the system for Radio DJs to easily identify the hook of each song, as well as start and end markers of each track to ensure seamless crossfades between different tracks. I also compiled reports on songs that have been processed and songs that require reuploads.

I was also a producer for the morning drive-time show - Get Up with Gerald & Kim. Received an A+ grade for the internship stint.

At the Ministry of Education Headquarters (Grange Road), I assisted my fellow colleagues in both the Psychological Services Branch and Centralised Administrative Office to analyse, notarise and catalogue case files belonging to students with special needs. On top of that, I also helped with other administrative work and basic office duties, such as filing, resource preparation and Excel tabulation of office supplies.
