The National Association of Agricultural Educators is a federation of state agricultural educators associations with more than 9,000 members. Our members are involved in school-based agricultural education at any level, from middle school through postsecondary, and state and national agricultural education leadership.NAAE provides professional development that is specific to agricultural educators and allows them to earn credit hours for participation in learning sessions and programs. Facilitators are trained to deliver any of the programs offered by NAAE.

Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education Events are hosted regionally through agricultural education partnerships throughout the country. Lead Teachers are the heartbeat of the CASE curriculum delivery model and are part-time contractors and serve as an extension of the National Council for Agricultural Education (The Council) and CASE. They facilitate instruction of CASE pedagogy and technical skills in coordination with CASE and Host Site Coordinators.

After relocating back home, as the High School Agricultural Science Teacher at Schuylerville Central School, I am able to introduce high school students to agricultural concepts through hands-on, inquiry-based learning while also advising the Senior High FFA Chapter. Over 125 students are enrolled in agricultural classes such as: Agricultural Business, Agricultural Mechanics, Animal Science, Introduction to Agricultural, and Plant Science.

Hartford, New York

Though no longer living on my family's home dairy farm, I remain active in the operation through consulting on reproduction and breeding decisions, herd management practices and marketing the herd genetics. Therefore, I remain up-to-date on industry trends, consumer demands and the needs of our family's herd. I also market our farm's genetics through various outlets such as social media, print media, and at numerous events. By doing so, we sell cattle to new and existing Guernsey breeders, both privately and at auction, and sell home-bred sire semen. Additionally, I manage the show string at various local, state and national dairy shows throughout the year. During this time, I oversee the care of the cattle and assist youth who exhibit their cattle in our string.

As an agricultural educator in rural northern New York, I allowed students in grades 9 - 12 to explore agricultural topics and industries in a variety of areas. Specifically, I taught classes including: Introduction to Agriculture, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Mechanics, Plant and Soil Science, Wildlife and Natural Resources Management as well as Agricultural Business and Marketing. Additionally, I oversaw the FFA Chapter and its activities.

Being a strong believer in the importance of agricultural education and developing the next generation of agricultural leaders, I have the opportunity to oversee youth development educational initiatives that are coordinated through the Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation of Pennsylvania. Specifically, I work largely on managing both the Dairy Leaders of Tomorrow Program, a high school dairy-focused agricultural curriculum and in-depth program, and Discover Dairy, a curriculum for elementary and middle school students. Both programs are multi-faceted, which allows me to work on a variety of projects that involve writing and developing curriculum, continually updating websites, coordinating multiple scholarship programs, planning farm tours, developing and executing educational workshops and presentations, assisting with on-farm interns, and writing and developing press releases and news articles for various publications. Additionally, to assist the center in its communication efforts, I oversee multiple social media business accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

In an effort to help put me through college, I assisted customers in purchasing their farm and home needs through optimal customer service. I sought out and listened to needs as well as goals of customers to help them make smart buying decisions for their home and business.

While assisting dairy businesses to reach optimum herd health, I attended trade shows to showcase company dairy health products offered through the company. Additionally, I made several on-farm calls to not only deliver merchandise but to meet with current and potential customers to assist in improving dairy herd health through problem solving and evaluation. Moreover, improved social media engagement of the business while managing networks to advertise products and engage customers.
