As part of this program, I created a vision and impact statement for Tulane's campus. This program teaches students to be actively involved in Tulane's campus by developing unique ways to implement our vision. Vision: To bring greater inclusivity to the Tulane community by teaching students to explore diversity and to expand their contacts with people of differing backgrounds (religiously, culturally, economically and socially).Impact Statement: I demonstrate how inclusivity and poverty have impacted people not only in the United States but also globally. Often, the economically disadvantaged or culturally unassimilated do not have access to the same opportunities that may be available to wealthier or politically connected groups. To encourage diversity and inclusivity at Tulane, we need to hold events that foster an understanding of peoples’ different backgrounds and encourage students from other countries to share their life experiences. By developing and holding events where university students can address these issues, they will hopefully gain an appreciation for other cultures and religions so that they can acquire skills to become future leaders.
