I am a sophomore in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee and I am working towards a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Business Management and Entrepreneurship along with a minor in Hispanic studies. I have always been interested in what the future holds and how I can achieve my goals. I currently work for the Lawn Butler which is a landscaping company and even though I am only a laborer I get to see glimpses of how a company with many employees is run successfully, giving me insight on how I can do the same. Another thing that I look to when I am working is how I can maximize the opportunities I am given. For example, as the Lawn Butler I am in charge of washing over 25 trucks, and I manage this by being consistent and organized.My ultimate goal in my career is to own my own construction/landscape business one day. I love the idea of owning a business because it means I can be in charge of my success to a degree. As for the construction/ landscape side, I grew up watching my dad do it and he inspired me. Getting there is going to take many steps. I understand I will have to work under other people who own a business, but that will only allow me to learn. Construction/landscaping allows for a vision to come to life physically right before your eyes, and I love the idea of that.
