Samantha joined Monir in 2002 as one of its first employees, after spending a few years with our sister company, Isherwood Geostructural Engineers. Having accumulated years of experience within every aspect of our business-- from completing installations and taking readings to the management of some very challenging and complex monitoring scopes-- Samantha has developed a keen understanding for what it takes to carry out a meaningful monitoring program and how that integrates into the project deliverables.With a driving passion for using precision geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring to manage construction risks, Samantha has worked closely with instrument manufacturers, consultants, and contractors to develop systems that add value.Samantha is a firm believer in providing the construction industry with fast, reliable and accurate monitoring data that brings peace of mind to those creating and bringing to life some of the most challenging engineering projects.

My role has expanded and changed since becoming a team member in 2002. I've been actively involved in all aspects of our business from the front line to the management of significant monitoring scopes of work. Currently, I oversee bid development and estimations, project management and lead various internal programs meant to continuously improve our quality and safety initiatives. I have overseen a number of monitoring projects with complex deep foundation excavation scopes throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Some more recent projects include The One, The Rosedale on Bloor, Whitehaus, 10 York Condos and a number of programs involving monitoring of adjacent subway tunnels. As the project lead on the Union Station Revitalization Stage 1 and Stage 2/3 Integrated, I was responsible for scope development, coordination, and management of an extensive monitoring program, which included: real-time continuous robotic total station monitoring, electrolevels, strain gauges, and various other settlement monitoring methods. This monitoring program was critical to the dig down process during the column cutting and load transferring exercises as trains and pedestrians continued regular use of the station.My goal is to work with you to assess the risks of your project and support the project team by delivering risk management through sound monitoring solutions. During her time with Isherwood, Samantha completed field inspections, tieback proof loading and performance testing, oversight of soldier pile and lagging and cassion wall installations, inspection and testing of soil nail and tied-back shotcrete installations, for many sites in and around the Greater Toronto Area including, the Lee-Chin Crystal additional at Renaissance ROM, Bloor Walk Condominiums, Telus Tower, and Maple Leaf Square.
