Started up SICC's first oilfield chemicals business selling 1) Enordet AXS, ATS and AOS surfactants for micellar flooding and steam foam EOR applications and 2) Enorflo and Shellfo biopolymers for polymer flooding EOR and viscosifying drilling fluids. Our "Water-Soluble Polymers" R&D programme led to the birth of formate brine technology for reservoir drilling and completion. Led eventually to first use of formate brine and Shellflo-S polymer in drilling fluids used in the Draugen field development in 1993 - two innovative Shell technologies field tested together.
