I joined the US Coast Guard Auxiliary here in Naples to gain experience in being a boat owner. I also like the idea that I am a contributor to the community. As part of the US Coast Guard, the Auxiliary helps boaters in distress, patrols the waterways and inspects Buoys. As a community service we inspect boats for boat owners to insure they have all the required and necessary equipment on board. We even go to the beautiful local beaches an put Life Jackets on a stand for use by children (free). It's a great experience and both Judy and I are members. We love it here in Naples and being on part of the community is a great way to enjoy our lives.
