I am a sales professional and broadcaster transplanted to Portland, although not far from my original roots in the Pacific Northwest. Currently, I specialize in creating sales opportunities within the Construction and Real Estate and Nonprofit industries.Raised in Western Washington, I studied music and recording in Bellingham at WWU, with focuses ranging from classical singing to electronic music production. Post-college, I became a volunteer at nonprofit, all-ages music venue and art gallery, Make.Shift, where I put my studies to work. After two years of volunteering that included booking and managing concerts, running sound, and training other volunteers, I helped to build Make.Shift's community radio station, KZAX, from it's infancy.I spent the next 5 years as Program Director, establishing the station as an outlet for broadcasters from all walks of life, as a key resource in the local music scene, as a friend to local businesses, and as an informative source of grassroots journalism, all based in fostering equity and inclusion in the community. During this time, I trained more than 100 volunteers how to broadcast, and spent countless hours developing programs with them.While I wasn't in the studio, I could often be found behind the counter at Bellingham's favorite record store, Avalon, helping to curate the shop's collection, and turning customers on to new music, until the day the store burned down. After that came a brief time with the Northern-most branch of Everyday Music, as well as a commercial news outlet, before relocating to Portland.Since arriving in the Rose City two years ago, I have broadcasted with three local stations, played records at venues all across town, served behind the counter at Music Millennium, and provided A/V, sound, and lighting to news outlets during President Biden's most recent address in Portland, among other events. As I continue to engage with this community, I aim to continue finding ways to put my expertise to use to the benefit of those around me.
