Jones was my first full time job in my architecture career. I worked on children's healthcare facilities, the Pelican Brewery in Siletz Bay OR, affordable housing for recently homeless women, single family housing on the Oregon coast and large multi family apartment buildings in Oregon and California. Most of my work focussed on drafting drawings for Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and some Construction Administration.

I was part of a shop drawing and fabrication team working on the Vassar Street Student Dormitory for Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I worked on the plans, sections, elevations and details for the project and drew up fabrication tickets for the Visual Mockup. I attended coordination meetings with the GC, Walsh Construction, as well.

Montpelier Vermont

As an architecture intern for gbA I was tasked with a wide range of work. Creating revit models of existing buildings and sites, fixing red lines on project drawing sets, writing up a draft of the office's Arch 2030 goals, early site analysis and research and working with the three principles to assist them with small scale projects.

As an Office Assistant I was expected to greet School of Law Students, direct them to whoever can best help, as well as answer the telephone and handle the questions that come from there. I worked 8-12 hours a week while taking classes at Northeastern.

I worked at Rode for 7 1/2 months as a paid intern through the Northeastern Coop Program. While at Rode I worked on Zoning Studies for new projects, logged Construction Submittals and RFI's, built project models, and worked on different types of drawings sets including Life Safety Permit sets, Zoning Refusals, Article 85 drawings, and Pricing sets. I also participated in multiple project site visits and client presentations and helped with a little marketing work.

I worked at Island for 7 1/2 months as a paid intern through the Northeastern Coop Program. At Island I spent time reviewing new project drawings and from those drawings I prepared bid takeoffs for the company estimator. I also gained design engineering experience and spent time revising construction detail drawings.

Calais, Vermont

For the summer of 2015 I worked for a small general contractor. Work included, major interior and exterior renovation of a old house, replacing a garage door, and the construction of a new home from the ground up. Building the new house took most of the summer and was the most rewarding part. I was tasked with helping to lay grade for the foundation, framing walls and ceilings, sheathing, flooring, and roofing. I worked 40 hours a week 7:30-4.

Barre, Vermont

I worked for Hutch Brothers Concrete for the summers of 2013 and 2014. The job mainly entailed helping where ever I was needed. There were groups of workers assigned to either building foundation walls or foundation slabs as well as an excavator. I was mainly assigned to assist the wall crew and the excavator. This would start with making sure the trucks were all stocked with every tool and material that would be needed that day. Upon reaching the job site I would be asked to unload everything, help set grade, layout and set up formwork, cut and set up reinforcing bar, build scaffolding, help to pour concrete, and strip off all the formwork after the concrete had cured. This was a 40 hour a week job, 6 am to 2:30 pm.

The summer before my freshman year of high school I stared my own odd jobs business. I put up flyers advertizing my ability to mow lawns, stack wood, help with gardening, babysit, help move furniture, and other tasks. Throughout the years I earned a reputation in my town and continued serving those who needed help up until I left for college.

As an employee of the Maple Corner Store I was given many responsibilities. Besides working the cash register I needed to make pizzas and sandwiches for customers, slice deli meats and cheese, keep all coolers and shelves stocked, and keep the store tidy. This was all done with limited supervision; I was expected to take initiative and do tasks without being told. I was trusted to close down the store at night and transfer money from the register to the safe. I worked 20-30 hours a week in the summer, less during the school year.
