Having completed an online MA in Education, I serve as a Board member and volunteer to Elevate Orlando, a local not-for-profit focused on disadvantaged students. I am interested in further opportunities to support the broad education community and particularly underserved students in our local or national community.My previous work was consulting with US and European companies seeking to enter or build business in the US K-12 market. I am experienced in print and on-line publishing in the US and UK, and held both strategic and operational management roles in educational publishing. I have an outstanding record in understanding the dynamics and needs of the K-12 market; identifying appropriate partners, negotiating contracts, developing marketing, product and product localization strategy. I have advised on digital transition strategies and challenges, emerging market segments and environments. I am a creative and innovative thinker and enjoy driving change agendas. .Much of my career at HMHco was focused on driving new publishing innovations. I excel at project team work and international collaboration, building and motivating new teams, managing and develop key staff across a variety of roles and disciplines.My last corporate role was leading HMHco’s strategy and business development function, and heading up its new business focused on growth sectors outside Harcourt’s traditional core business of textbook publishing.
