I’m a mechanical engineer who is primarily interested in manufacturing and industrial processes. I am passionate about refining these processes in order to minimize waste of time, money, and physical waste. I embed focus, determination and passion in the work that I do. Everyone has limited time and I can not stand wasting it. I believe in intensive research, testing and documentation. This is a crucial aspect of these processes because it is the only way to be certain that they are being optimized. Upon the completion of my sophomore year, I interned at an engineering firm in concord, Queen City Engineering & Design. Here I was given the opportunity to perform procedural write-ups and documentation of repetitive tasks in order to save the company time and money. I created manuals for the shops equipment that explained in detail start up, operation, and shut down procedures. This made the training of new employees much easier, for once they were walked through everything by a current operator, if they were confused all they would have to do is reference the manual. I also made inventory lists of all the shop tool boxes because I noticed that a significant amount of time was wasted walking around the shop looking for tools. I really enjoyed getting to perform tasks like these, I’m a result oriented individual and it is so pleasing to see my hard work pay off.I am also interested in troubleshooting. I enjoy the process of analyzing something that is not working properly and fixing it/preventing further malfunctions. I am interested in a career with a company that will utilize my passion and potential.
