I focus on enabling teams to use their spatial data to provide additional analysis and insight. I develop workflow and decision support tools to provide this additional level of knowledge to my clients. This reduces the time and effort required to carry out tasks and provides a consistent output.I am constantly looking towards new technology and innovative practices to advance our capabilities to think smarter and faster while ensuring the tools and results are simple to use and understand for my internal and external clients.During my time in this role I diversified the use of GIS technology beyond the traditional ‘maps and figures’ approach. Utilising ESRI's suite of tools and as a Regional Administrator for AECOM's Portal for ArcGIS web mapping and mobile data collection is now used widely by multiple disciplines. Advanced GIS analysis including network analysis, visibility and bespoke tools are being used as standard. My work included the develop of SPADE (Spatial Planning and Development Enterprises) to allow users to access GIS data on a web based platform with minimal GIS understanding or training. SPADE won the ‘Best Use of Technology Award’ at the 2017 Park and Leisure Western Australia Awards of Excellence. Show less -

These projects include elements relating to transportation, renewable energy and human impact of environmental noise.I developed a wind turbine location optimisation tool using Python and ArcGIS to calculate the optimal number of turbines in a given location based on acoustic parameters. This tool has been successfully implemented in several wind farm noise evaluations and continues to be used within the UK. I also designed or improved upon a number of tools used by our internal teams to meet the requirements of legislation improving both consistency and efficiency. My main aims in this role were to improve efficiency and data management through a range of tools and protocol that I had developed. Being able to undertake more complex calculations allowed a more developed solution to be provided to the client. This included Noise Mapping across Scotland as part of the Environmental Noise Directive on behalf of the Scottish Government. Show less -
