I've worked at Tallis for a long time and done a variety of things. I've had some elbow room to experiment, make mistakes and follow my interests. My three kids have all attended the school where I work. I've been very lucky. Alongside my overall responsibility for the continued success of the arts in school, I currently lead on the development of the Tallis Habits dispositional learning initiative and whole school Research & Development. I am coordinating our Tate Exchange Associate projects and I am responsible for the school's various websites and social media presence.

I began my career as an English teacher and was promoted to 2i/c at the end of my probationary year. I established an A level course in the history of art which ran successfully for a number of years. I currently teach photography. I helped pioneer the school’s innovative new enquiring minds curriculum at KS3 Tallis Lab (www.tallislab.com). I established the photography A level course in 2006 and it has been one of the most successful and oversubscribed post 16 courses since its inception (tallisphotography.weebly.com). I have co-created a web-based resource to support photography teachers anywhere called www.photopedagogy.com.
