Elaine has extensive experience in management decision-making, improvement, strategy and leadership. She believes in setting challenging goals and using creative and critical thinking to obtain these goals.Elaine is currently employed at 4Xcellence Solutions, a management consultancy focusing on strategy development, business improvement, operational excellence and risk management. Previous employment involved part time lecturing at the Stellenbosch University Business School and lecturer at the Department of Information Management at Stellenbosch University. Elaine was also previously a Business Improvement Manager at mining company, Namakwa Sands where she managed three business improvement analysts over three sites. She began her career as an Industrial Engineer at Kumba Resources (later Exxaro) where she gained valuable experience and skills in business improvement processes, problem solving tools and techniques, financial analysis, facilitation skills and strategic planning, incorporating the fields of decision sciences in everything she did.Elaine holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering (University of Pretoria), a Masters Degree in Technology Management (University of Pretoria) and a PhD in Industrial Engineering (Stellenbosch University). Her dissertation entitled: Development of a participatory planning approach for energy sustainability at a local government level.Elaine is passionate about people and is enthusiastic to be part of the development of people’s skills and learning, moving and creating a sustainable future as well as the development of tools that make business simpler, yet more effective.
