Foundation for Open Development (FOD) is a Research, Advocacy, Conflict Mitigation and Capacity Building multi-disciplinary Non-Governmental Organization. FOD is pivoted as “a platform for the Voiceless” concerned with the high plight of the human rights abuses and its related social-economic effects on the people of Uganda, coupled with high poverty levels especially in the rural areas due to lack of adequate involvement of people in participatory democracy, governance and income generating activities. This is due to the virus of corruption, embezzlement and land/property grabbing of the poor people in Uganda because of selfishness, impunity, greed and intrigue of those strategically placed in high command offices in government. It is on this basis that the birth of Foundation for Open Development was realized in 2012.
