I manage the professional services practice of True Tech Consultants, LLC. We specialize in high-complexity hybrid cloud project engagements with a high degree of professional delivery. We cover the Orange County and SF Bay areas in sunny California.

My responsibilities at All Covered started with the firm which was acquired by All Covered in 2014, KnowledgeCentrix, Inc. (KCI). KCI focused on the SMB space in Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Diego. I was primarily responsible for supporting large-scale projects and serving as an escalation point for our helpdesk when issues required a senior-level engineer to resolve. I served on the projects delivery team as a senior engineer from 2010 until mid-2014, deploying everything from small-scale office installations to 2000+ user multisite disaster recovery and upgrade initiatives. In 2014, I volunteered for a position with the pre-sales staff in Irvine (now Anaheim) as a Solutions Architect, supporting eight Solutions Coordinators (outside salespeople) in the Southern California region. I am responsible for proposal generation and scoping of projects of all sizes and types, as well as generating a ‘technology roadmap’ for each of the managed services customers on a quarterly basis. Recently, I began spanning both engineering and pre-sales roles and am currently serving on both strategic projects and pre-sales teams.

At KnowledgeCentrix, I am part of a highly-skilled team of professionals called upon to perform a number of duties to support the operations of the Managed Services Provider. This includes pre-sales activities to support the sales staff with technical details of our solutions; on-site and remote project implementation; support of customer solutions (which includes troubleshooting unfamiliar systems that may have been installed by a third party); training and documentation at the conclusion of projects for customers’ on-site staff who will be the solution’s first line of defense; and finally, discovery of new and existing systems at customer sites for the purposes of proposed remediation or requested knowledge-transfer. While at KnowledgeCentrix, I have had the pleasure of working with a multitude of customers, covering a wide breadth of technologies and needs, ranging from small problems that need immediate repair, to large enterprise datacenter operations critical to a corporation’s survival.

My current role at ACS currently focuses on maintaining security in a statewide network made up of close to ten offices throughout the state. I work with Juniper products at the core, but branch out to other vendors, including Cisco, McAfee, and Symantec to secure and provide visibility between the most disparate endpoints. I also serve as the backup administrator, using Sun hardware and Symantec NetBackup to protect our data.

As a Managed Services Provider and VAR in the Central Valley, I am part of a team of engineers responsible for the care and maintenance of all sites with contract or non-contract support from us. Two of the largest sites are under my direct supervision and care, with weekly scheduled visits that include general network maintenance, help desk, user training, and design & implementation. Additionally, I am consistently required to serve as project manager on a wide variety of projects from server or workstation deployments to complex wireless implementations. The specialties in which I am called upon often by other engineers include Blackberry Enterprise Server, Microsoft Exchange, and managing Cisco devices. MSPMentor Top 100, 2009.

Served as sole director of all IT support services. Planned, presented, and executed the transition from single-site peer-to-peer network to four-site Windows Active Directory network. Network deployment included Microsoft Exchange 2003, 802.1x secure wireless, site to site VPNs, HP SAN Expansion, Windows File Sharing integration with Macintosh workstations, and WSUS patch management. Additionally, a number of technologies previously unused were implemented, including a Blackberry Enterprise Server, Barracuda Spam Firewall, Symantec Backup Exec 11d (subsequently upgraded to 12), Symantec Endpoint Protection 11, and Centrify Direct Control to manage Macintosh workstations in an AD environment.

Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of LAN and WAN from the AT&T demarc to the end user, including a Lucent Definity G3 phone system equipped with a Lucent Intuity voicemail system. Local office has 120 users and 4 remote offices have between 5 and 12 users each. Daily responsibilities generally were geared towards troubleshooting and desktop support, but the expectation was that I also was to be the major driving force behind the acquisition of new technologies. I served as project manager on four occasions, two of them involving a new network to be set up in a location previously unoccupied. I installed telecommunications hardware as well as networking hardware including switches, Server 2003 domain controllers, Juniper Networks NetScreen VPN firewalls, Lucent Digital phones, and Windows XP Pro workstations. I also configured these devices as well as continually supported them in a working environment.

Domain Administrator (Windows 2000 environment) for office LAN with approximately 225 users (Domain supported over 200,000 users). Responsible for daily server backup and recovery procedures. Wrote, updated, and maintained eight databases engineered to reduce manpower requirements, lighten workloads, and eliminate customer tracking errors.
