UbuCon is an annual conference focusing on Ubuntu, the world's most popular open source operating system. As part of the SoCal Linux Expo, this full-day event features sessions on a wide range of topics from using Ubuntu to participating in its development and support. Organized by members of the Ubuntu contributor community, UbuCon speakers have included both community members and employees of Canonical, the company that manages the Ubuntu project.

Co-designed and developed many of the software systems Kids Care Everywhere deploys to support pediatric care around the world, as well as the custom CMS used to author the content.

While the LiveCode platform was open source, served as liaison between internal maintainers and the developer community. Key achievements include:- Platform evangelism at open source events- Multiple online events to accelerate community contributions- Negotiated community and core dev priorities- Coordinated outreach for segments ranging from EDU to SMB- Promoted open source goals and opportunities in an audience historically accustomed to proprietary software- Helped people find the fun in learning and sharing

Located in downtown Los Angeles, The Brewery is said to be the world's largest artists' colony, with some 300 live-work studios. Twice a year many of the resident artists open their doors to the public for the Artwalk, drawing thousands of art collectors and enthusiasts from around southern California.The Brewery Artwalk is organized by the Brewery Artwalk Association (BAA), a non-profit whose Board I joined as Secretary in July 2018.In addition to the Artwalk, the BAA also organizes other gallery showings and events throughout the year in support of public education relating to the fine arts and the local artists who create them.

Maintained computer systems across three offices, and supported users with selection and instruction of software applications. In the company's startup phase I designed and developed a custom payroll system, later writing tools to port the records to an outside payroll company. Also wrote various tools for processing and displaying data from geophysics instruments.
