Personally, I fell in love with AZ while visiting the state during law school, during which I said I would live in AZ someday.After starting, my first project, which I needed to complete inside of 45 days (in addition to ongoing work) was to save the firm's 1998 "FastTech 50" event sponsorship from the abyss--a tall order given the time available and work to be done. The event was largely driven by Brown & Bain, The Phoenix Business Journal, and KPMG. A few weekends, 12-hour days, and all-nighters later, the event went off flawlessly.During my tenure, with a staff of one--a graphic designer--I completed a series of large-scale projects while tending to on-going tasks. For example: (1) I took the lead role in launching a new firm website, which was database-driven at a time when most sites, including the firm's former site, were static and HTML-based. The site featured artwork from the firm's unique, multi-million dollar collection, which adorned the firm's office walls. (2) I created a more functional, flexible, and manageable CRM by replacing an expensive, proprietary, and complicated system that didn't work (and nobody would be able to use) with a much less expensive solution. The database was used to manage all event invitations and client alerts. (3) I raised the firm's local and national media profile, earning several business and industry media articles about the firm and its clients--not easily done from AZ. (4) I launched an internal marketing newsletter that helped spur new business efforts.
