After the January 1, 2014 merger that created Stinson Leonard Street LLP, assumed the director of communications role from January 2014 to August 2014 and led the team responsible for post-merger external and internal communications projects, including practice alerts and newsletters, media relations, content development, social media, messaging, and client communications.From April 2009 to December 2014, held the Chief Marketing Officer position at Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP, prior to the firm's merger, which created Stinson Leonard Street LLP. As CMO, led a 10-person business development and marketing department, with up to 8 direct reports. Responsibilities included:Strategic Planning: Developed strategic marketing plan with an emphasis on business development, consistent with management's interest in creating a biz dev-oriented culture. Successfully implemented plan over a 2-year period, completing core elements in each area.Business Development: Developed internal resources to track new business targets, introduced proactive biz dev functions, and helped develop a firmwide biz dev training program that was launched in 2013, completing the first phase prior to merger. Marketing Communications: Led the firm's 2009 brand update and re-launch project, including a logo refresh and collateral upgrade. Created and implemented a new, firmwide creative design concept, integrating marcom from advertising to website design. In the three months leading up to the merger, took the lead role for SMH in preparing internal, media, and client messaging regarding the pending combination. During the same time period, was significantly involved in pre-merger efforts to create the new logo, brand materials, promotional content, and an integrated website--all of which was completed in less than 100 days between September and December 31, 2013.
