Neuroscientist specialized in clinical neuroscience, with a great interest in neurodegenerative disorders, psychiatry and neuropharmacology. Over the years, I obtained a vast skill set including statistics, programming, project development, scientific writing, psychiatric evaluation, and scientific communication. During my Bachelor's and my Master's I did various internships at rather divergent departments within the field of Neurosciences in order to orientate myself and develop a broad set of skills. My first internship was at the GGZ InGeest, during which I researched the effects of electroconvulsive therapy on inflammation in patients with depression. This internship resulted in my first publication in The World Journal of Biological Psychiatry: "the pattern of inflammatory markers during electroconvulsive therapy in older depressed patients". My second internship was at the Department of Anatomy, Embryology, and Physiology (Amsterdam UMC) during which I wrote a literature review on human fetal sulcal development. My final internship was at the Amsterdam MS centre, at the department of Anatomy & Neurosciences. During this project I researched the differences in static functional connectivity between cognitively preserved and impaired MS patients with subjective cognitive impairment.
