Part of a cross-platform team, tasked with providing our organisation with all platforms required for internal systems and services, on the Microsoft side• Maintain Platform Engineering (PE) infrastructure hardware, operating systems (OS) and services• Configuration management of OS and applications, ensuring standards are defined and managed• Monitoring of, and alerting for, PE infrastructure• Manage risks and releases using configuration management, patch management, and version control• Maintain and administer mission-critical PE systems• Implement process-based approaches to meet PE’s organisational goals• High degree of leadership through ownership and execution• Provide project estimates, and prioritising tasks effectively• Performed activities in compliance with Internet Solutions’ policies and procedures• Follow system administration guidelines, -standards and best-practices• Brainstorm and incubate new ideas with other team members• Provide the skills and experience to ensure PE provide next-generation architecture and services, to core business units across Internet Solutions (IS) infrastructure, across the continent• Ownership of projects and problems with effective self management• Accurate forecasting of capacity requirements across annual timeframes• Availability of services to within five 9’s• Accountable for the architecture of highly available services and -applications to serve operational requirements- Identify risks that could impact the security, stability and/or availability of PE services, and take appropriate action to resolve it and/or make the business aware- Take ownership of critical issues escalated to PE from any number of sources across the IS organization- Raise awareness to line managers about potential issues arising from, but not limited to, delivery impediments on current projects, risks affecting PE services, issues with services, networks or systems on which PE relies
