As founder of Sheeru, a women-only space, my role is one of advocacy and support for women's empowerment and inclusivity. Sheeru was born out of a deep understanding of the need for safe, supportive environments where women can thrive, connect, and flourish without fear or judgment.In society, women often face barriers & challenges that hinder their ability to fully participate and engage in public spaces. From concerns about safety & harassment to cultural and societal norms that dictate where and how women can socialize, the need for women-only spaces like Sheeru is undeniable.For many women, Sheeru provides a sanctuary where they can feel comfortable and confident, free from the pressures and constraints of the outside world. It's a place where they can relax, socialize, & pursue their interests without fear of discrimination or harassment.One group that particularly benefits from Sheeru's presence is women who wear veils. These women often face additional barriers to socializing & connecting in public spaces due to stereotypes & misconceptions about their beliefs & practices. Sheeru offers a welcoming & inclusive environment where women in veils can feel respected & valued, free to express themselves and engage with others without prejudiceCentral to Sheeru's mission is the provision of essential facilities that cater to the diverse needs of women. This includes dedicated prayer spaces where women can practice their faith in comfort and privacy, as well as childcare facilities that allow mothers to participate fully in Sheeru's activities without worrying about the well-being of their children.By creating a space where women feel safe, supported, and empowered, Sheeru seeks to address the systemic inequalities & biases that limit women's access to public spaces & opportunities for socialization and connection. It's a testament to our commitment to building a more inclusive & equitable society where every woman can thrive and succeed on her own terms.
