Field research in South Texas and in Mexican border cities of Matamoros and Reynosa.Projects Included:- Migrant Kidnappings in Nuevo Laredo: Generated data set of over 580 kidnapping incidents outside of Nuevo Laredo. Assisted with analysis.- Migrant Deaths in South Texas: Traveled to Sheriff’s offices in South Texas to collect data on migrants who die attempting to illicitly cross into the US. Documented over 200 fatalities.- Lateral Flights: Interviewed nonprofit staff and analyzed flight data tracking over 22,000 lateral deportation flights carried out by the Dept. of Homeland Security.

Rendered a data driven evaluation of SFFD’s proposal.- Controller’s Office Racial Equity Working Group:Facilitated feedback sessions with City Performance staff to outline improvements to office culture, recruitment strategy, and hiring and promotion practices to advance racial equity across the department.

Organized training sessions for City, hotel, and nonprofit staff. Successfully housed 200+ formerly homeless individuals.- Assignment 4 (Current): Lead Analyst, Hotel Demobilization Team, Human Services BranchDrafted the strategic plan and schedule to demobilize 30 SIP hotels and return them to normal hotel operation. Created and oversaw use of project management tools to prioritize tasks and organize tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of staff time, supplies, and contracted services.
