SWAT {SoftWare Acceptance Test} TEAM MEMBER. Part of team responsible for testing design changes made to Dell/Equallogic Storage Products to support VMware vSphere 6.0; especially VVols {aka: virtual volumes}. Responsibilities included: install and configure vSphere test environment(s) [eg: ESXi, CloudVM, Array, and VSM] then perform tests against applicable VM data services including: snapshots/reverts/clones; plus migrations, and add/remove vmdk, etc; all with VM granularity. Recorded defects in Bugzilla database and Verifed fixes. Trouble-shooting defects required harvesting log files from all vSphere components: Array, ESXi, vCenter, and VSM; and analyzing same @ time-of-failure to isolate where the fault lies. MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTSDell EqualLogic PS Series Firmware v8.0.4, Dell Virtual Storage Manager for VMware v4.5.1 and Dell EqualLogic SAN Headquarters v3.1.0 were released to the Web in support of vSphere 6.0 on Aug 04, 2015.

WINT-T SYSTEM TEST TEAM MEMBERPart of Team responsible for SIT test plans & procedures’ development and execution against several proprietary Java based “PAMR” [Plan, Administer, Monitor, Respond] Network Management System Applications for the U.S. ARMY’s “Warfighter Information Network – Tactical” [WIN-T]. As Principal Test Engineer for the Planning Application I used specification documents provided {SRS, ISD, ICD, and Tech Notes} to develop sophisticated test cases and procedures to qualify SYS/SW features and functions. Full Division-level Planning of Units with Nodes includes: En Route Mission Planning with Ground-Tier and Space-Tier RF Coverage analysis and Spectrum planning for all wireless WANs/LANs: 802.11, 802.16, HNW, NCW, TDMA, FDMA, HCLOS and Generic Emitter radios in support of TCN, PoP, SNE, STT+, TR/T, JNN, BNN, etc.; providing On-The-Move and IP Traffic Simulation capability with Health Scores for analysis. MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTSI supported the fielding of DT [Design] and LUT [Limited User] Test phases of WIN-T INC2 at Ft Huachuca, AZ and Ft Stewart, GA respectively.

Responsible for test plan creation and execution for R&D of Storage Host Bus Adapters (HBA) installed in W2K, W2K3 and Linux/Unix environments. Supported End-to-End qualification testing of VI/IP network attached storage (NAS). I also supported testing of iSCSI and FibreChannel HBAs for storage area networks (SAN). For FibreChannel, I Built Arbitrated-Loop and Switched-Fabric w/ Zoning test configurations. Optimized performance, tested drivers, firmware, ASICs and hardware supporting SCSI for both iSCSI and Fibre-Channel HBAs for Windows, Linux and Solaris platforms. Implemented test programs utilizing Empirix Hammer TCP tester, Chariot, ANVL and SmartBits network validation tools for automated regression testing. Designed and configured complex networks incorporating VLANs, spanning tree, fault tolerance and fail-over. Actively participated in University of New Hampshire Inter-Operability Lab programs. Hands-on experience with Brocade, McData and Nishan switches; Cisco routers; HP, and EMC Clariion arrays and Network Appliance 840 and 960 filers and NAS devices; RAID configurations; JBODs; SBODs; Ethereal, IOMeter, Finisar Xgig protocol analyzer and traffic generation tool; PowerPath, Navisphere, OpenView, AutoPilot and HBAnyware configuration and management tools.

Responsible for end-to-end SQA test of Gateway GPRS cellular telecommunications wireless data networking component; integrating GTP and L2TP-over-IPsec tunneling protocols over T1, E1, T3 WAN and LAN interfaces with Routing, QoS, Security and Accounting onto dual-redundant Pentium platform. GPRS allows existing GSM (Global Systems for Mobile Communications) network to provide access to the Internet via mobile phones. SQA team member working with development and marketing teams in Massachusetts, Texas and France for global deployment. Developed test plans and strategy resulting in first multi-vendor GPRS network in commercial service globally and first nationwide GPRS network in service globally. Built Windows end-stations and designed GGSN test network placing end-stations at strategic LAN interfaces of the GGSN. Responsible for finding and reporting feature and function bugs relating to ingress and egress communications via GTP (GPRS Tunnel Protocol), PPP, PPTP, L2TP/IPSec and an IPSec client. Configured external DHCP server supporting Option77 (named pools). Used Nortel’s proprietary GPRS Application Platform (GAP) tool to qualify IP protocol applications. Testing also included routing, DNS, Client functionality, authentication, encryption, PKI certificates, DHCP, LDAP, RADIUS and SNMP. Employed analyzers, network analysis tools, performance analysis tools, Silk Test automated tests, custom applications and Linux-based tools to enhance productivity and test coverage.

Pre/Post Sales Quality AssuranceEngineer in support of 3Com customers worldwide. Worked in Systems Engineering Group within 3Coms Worldwide Customer Service Organization (ie: HotSystems). Provided detailed analysis (via sniffer traces and analysis thereof; from on-site) to software developers; relative to products' introduction (ie: mostly TR migrations) problems reported.Product lines supported include: bridges/switches, routers, MAUs/Hubs/Repeaters; plus the interaction of these products amongst a variety of NIC card vendors and OS platforms from Server and/or Client vantage points. Networking technologies involved encompass the industry spectrum available: Ethernet: 10mb/100mb/1000mb; TokenRing: 4mb/16mb; ATM; and TR-in-FE. In this position I traveled the continental U.S.A. and Europe representing 3Com to its customers in times of trouble.
