My role is to recruit general practitioners from both Australia and all over the world into rural towns across Tasmania, including the Bass Strait islands. Working in a rural community can come with its own set of challenges but practising in rural Tasmania provides very real rewards for the health professionals themselves and their families. These include challenging and exciting medicine, great work-life balance, the opportunity for community involvement and financial incentives. I am fortunate to travel all over Tasmania and build relationships with a range of people from all sorts of backgrounds and cultures. HR+ has a real role in helping people to fulfil their ambitions and adjust to life in a new place, and I am proud to play a part in that.
