At first I was looking for a society to enhance my CV profile, however as I discovered more and gained an understanding of SIFE I realised I had a passion for helping people and being part of an international organisation. The difficulty I have found of studying History is the lack of business related opportunities available; however despite your degree SIFE has a place for you. SIFE UWE has opened my eyes to new prospects and opportunities whilst allowing me to meet some great new people and develop business- like ways of thinking. It allows self and team development through undertaking real life experiences whilst improving your community.One of the greatest things about SIFE UWE is being a brand new team, which has resulted in creating a real buzz throughout the University, with backing from the Vice-Chancellor and a great support network specifically brought in to help us!Working with different types of people has developed my communication skills, my confidence and has developed and improved leadership skills. Overcoming challenges is a regular occurrence within SIFE, however the beneficial outcomes on the local community and the development as an individual makes the all the effort extremely rewarding.
