Leading Arm Ltd's Impact strategy and work.Independent researcher investigating the social and environmental impacts of Artificial Intelligence. My postgraduate thesis was titled 'On the Sustainability of AI: Understanding the role of Sacrifice Zones in the production, use and disposal of AI infrastructure '.Interested in AI / Ethics / Tech Ethics / Sustainability / Social Impact / Technology / Partnerships / Environment / Corporate Social Responsibility / Corporate Citizenship / Public SpeakingI believe in the power of organisations - and intrapreneurs within them - to be a force for good in addressing some of the biggest challenges facing people and planet globally. I have over 12 years professional work experience in both the charity and private sector, in consultancy and in-house roles. I have built my career in sustainability, with my passion and expertise in social impact in the technology sector. In my current role I am responsible for leading Social Impact and Innovation at Arm, delivering inclusive innovation through partnerships, insights, and our social impact ecosystem. Through this approach, we surface, catalyse and optimise new opportunities, partnerships and insights for social and sustainable impact at scale, with a particular focus on inequality and climate related challenges.In 2020, I was selected as the United Nations Global Compact SDG Pioneer winner for the UK, and in 2022 I was selected as one of twenty Global Fellow's through the League of Intrapreneurs, cementing my commitment to championing impact and values-driven leadership in business. In 2023 I was selected for the '100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics' list. Since 2021 I have been part of the tinyML Foundation 'For Good' working group, act as an Assessor at Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, and joined the inaugural AI Ethics and Society MSt programme at Cambridge University, designed specifically for experienced professionals.My academic research revolves around interrogating Artificial Intelligence and its broader social, ethical and environmental implications. My particular interests are the material inputs that allow our digital worlds to exist, for example the high purity quartz required for semiconductor chip production. • I love speaking about the topics I am passionate about.
