Marine and Coastal/Environmental Planning role:• Administering key legislation and policy requirements to ensure appropriate use, development and management of public land including; the Marine and Coastal Act 2018, Marine and Coastal Policy 2020, Planning and Environment Act and Public Land Administration Act:- Coordinating DEECAs assessment and response for applications for Marine and Coastal Act (MACA) 2018 consents and Land Owner (LO) consents, to use or develop Public Land in the Barwon South West Region. - Manage stakeholder relations and provide support to delegated land managers including Committees of Management, Councils and Parks Victoria; providing guidance and direction to develop Coastal and Marine Management Plans, up to date advice on land, marine and coastal data and investigations, advising grant opportunities, developing management plans and advising on storm damage recovery.- Represent DEECA on Project Advisory Groups.• Mentor direct staff reports and junior team to develop their knowledge and experience in public land management, relevant legislation and policy, project management, community engagement and risk management.

Stakeholder Technical Service Lead, Level Crossing Removal Project,AECOM-GHD Joint Venture Technical Advisory.I led the AECOM-GHD Joint Venture (JV) stakeholder and communications team for the Level Crossings project, providing in-house advice and project support for the corporate affairs and stakeholder relations management team. I managed the JV stakeholder workload forecasting, resourcing, work orders and budgets and logistics; providing the right people at the right time. This included management of the JV and sub-consultant stakeholder team, comprising approx. 30 staff to deliver public relations, internal communications, stakeholder relations and graphic design, event management and community engagement etc. And also coordinating the JV technical specialist and additional stakeholder support for the community consultation programs. Managing relationships is core to effectively contributing to the broader level crossings program. My role also facilitated the JV stakeholder contact requests for geotechnical, environmental and cultural site access program wide, including facilitation of community notifications.

Gladstone Region

Welcoming Intercultural Neighbours Inc. (WIN) is a not-for-profit Gladstone based organisation that has been established to assist new residents and their families integrate confidently into the Gladstone Region. The organisation provides support, information sessions, education and training, orientation programs, referrals, resources development and provision, and events planning and promotion. It seeks the participation of local and new residents who are willing to adapt, integrate, and enrich their lives by coming closer to other cultures and to the Gladstone community. WIN also provides a number of services to businesses, industry and other community organisations such as cultural awareness packages and integration activities.I initially worked at WIN in a voluntary grant writing capacity until I was successful in attaining the first paid support role as Project Officer. I managed all elements of the community engagement and volunteering program, enabling new migrants and their families to connect with others; share their culture and better integrate into the local community. I managed the “WIN Weekly Meetings” and monthly “Language Cafe” sessions, regular guest speakers; training and facilitating voluntary guest speakers to share their country and culture.I was also responsible for community and stakeholder liaison, numerous community grant applications, coordination of the WIN memberships and delivery of marketing and promotions including, online newsletters, social media updates, development of event and activity collateral. I lead the volunteers recruitment and inductions, training and established a monthly volunteer reward and recognition program.

Founded in 1982, Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA) offers opportunities for volunteers to join projects across Australia. Our programs offer volunteers the chance to learn and apply new skills - while having a great time on social, fun activities which make a real difference to the environment. We provide help to land managers who need assistance to complete conservation projects and assist in projects in a range of land tenure, such as National and State Parks, World Heritage Areas, private conservation reserves, individual landholders, local councils and shires etc. Conservation Volunteers Australia believes in a healthy and sustainable environment, and aspires for everyone to be involved in managing and protecting that environment. With a mission to attract and manage volunteers to participate in projects that protect or enhance our environment and heritage, CVA has partnered with individuals, businesses and governments in the conservation of our unique environment. In that, welcomed hundreds of thousands of volunteers from around Australia and across the world and supported their participation in a diversity of projects.In my role as a Casual Team Leader, I lead and facilitate volunteer participation in a range of hands on land management and coastal conservation projects in the Gladstone Region.

People & Parks Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit, charitable organisation whose purpose is to connect people with parks/nature in order to educate them about the natural environment and to build a stronger relevance of parks in people’s lives. Founded on the concept that a healthy environment, a healthy community and a healthy lifestyle are inextricably linked, the People & Parks run and support a variety of programs that aspire to enrich people’s lives and enable people to improve their mental and physical health through real interactions with nature.I project managed the development and implementation of the Green Connections Project. An initiative of the Victorian Bushfire Appeals Fund, the project was specifically aimed at improving the health and well-being bush-fire affected individuals, in Kinglake and Marysville, through participation in hands on environmental fire recovery projects. Key Achievements include contribution from over 1000 volunteers (from local schools and the broader community) participating in more than 50 coordinated events and activities:- clean up activities,- environmental art and sculpture programs,- habitat monitoring and next box installation programs,- weed control and revegetation, fencing and site amenity improvements including art installations at Wallaby Springs Reserve and construction of the new Messmate walking track at the Cathedral Range State Park.

Promoting the award winning Healthy Parks, Healthy People (HPHP) message and working with Parks Victoria staff and stakeholders to develop innovative programs and initiatives that engage people in parks and nature for their health and wellbeing benefits. This included building knowledge, skills and relationships to implement on ground HPHP projects. A key focus was working on implementation of the International Healthy Parks Healthy People Congress 2010, attended by over 1000 participants from 35 countries. At the much acclaimed conference, I was responsible for responsible for scheduling participation of 100+ Parks Victoria employees, and involved in facilitating the 35 volunteers for the 5 days.

Singapore

As the first Parks Victoria international exchangee to Singapore, I managed the cultural and heritage portfolio for Fort Canning Park including development and delivery of community environmental and cultural outreach programs. This included marketing and promotions, managing community events, volunteering and visitor interpretation and engagement programs as well as schools education. I provided specialist advice and internal consulting on priority education projects including development of NParks curriculum education framework with Ministry of Education, trail signage development for the Park Connector Network (bike trail) and the Outreach Benchmarking Project.Delivery of communications/visitor interpretation training to over 100+ staff.

I managed all elements of Schools’ Education and Community Interpretation for Parks Victoria. This included design and delivery of policies, annual programs and total funding for the state-wide Schools Education programs at the key education centres including the iconic Grampians and Wilsons Promontory national parks. I led high level partnerships across government to foster and share best practice initiatives in interpretation and education, such as Department of Sustainability and Environment and National Gallery of Victoria. I managed the development and implementation of the award winning Junior Ranger Program ($1M program), Ranger Roo Club and their websites and development of a range of curriculum based resources and educational tools for schools including education kits, posters and teacher resources. I also lead communications training for Summer Ranger and Campground Host inductions.
