I am a lecturer and mentor in the School of Business at SUNY Empire State University with over twenty-five years of experience working with adult students. As an economist, I have spent over two decades working on a range of SUNY wide racial and social justice initiatives to reduce institutional barriers to a college education (especially in relation to underrepresented students) as well as increase access for racialized faculty; as a racialized woman, I am committed to ensuring that people of color not only have access to higher education but earn credentials that will support them in improving their socioeconomic status. I view credit for prior learning as a powerful tool to close racial outcome gaps. I have served as the Presidential Fellow for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from 2020-2022. I have a Master’s degree in economics from Fordham University and a Bachelor’s degree in economics from State University of New York University at Buffalo.
