Held 2 positions: Buyer Planner -Manage demand, capacity and supplier relationships in support of production. • Developed Make/Buy analysis with Engineer to support outsourcing of higher assemblies. • Make/Buy analysis for RBS main assembly resulted in cost savings of 1.2 million over 8 months. Identified a cost to outsource HPA assemblies cost avoidance of 4 million over 8 months. • Lead in development of Kanban replenishment system. Trained Buyers, Material Handlers, and Receiving personnel in concept and assisted in IT process for a demand-pull format to signal supplier for replenishment in Oracle System resulting in minimal inventory on hand. • Established and implemented Kanbans, worked with Mechanical Engineers to establish kanban dimensioning (multiple part carts) reducing floor lay out requirements during a rapid ramp in production. • Worked with supplier to design reusable carts through out the factory floor and obtained overall product cost reductions for the elimination of packaging.• Cost avoidance of 900K negotiating EOL excess on backplane and sheet metal products. • Coordinated transfer of all open orders with each buyer and their supplier in support of transferring production between plants. Transferred my accounts setting up local facility supporting continued kanban supply. • Process improvement teams: o Transition of processes from Qualcomm to Ericsson. o IT implementation of SAP. o Developed SMP program for supplier performance. o Y2K Supplier compliance. Buyer - Purchased various commodities such as sheet metal, machined metal, thermal pads, gaskets, hardware, installation kits, back planes and flex circuits supporting production. Daily responsibilities included: MRP (Material Resource Planning), purchase order placement, AP issues, RTS (Return to Supplier), SMP (Supplier management program), document control review, standard cost updates, PPV (Purchase Price Variance) analysis, EZO (Excess with zero demand) analysis.
