I am a Board Certified physician in Internal Medicine. I received my BS degree from Howard University in 1984 and MD degree in 1989 from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. I completed residency training in Internal Medicine in 1992 at Franklin Square Hospital Center in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, I hold a Master of Public Health degree from Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, 2003. I received my fellowship (FACP) from the American College of Physicians (ACP)in 2013. I currently practice medicine in Albany Georgia with Area Primary Health Care (AAPHC). AAPHC is the second largest Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQCHC) in Georgia boasting over thirty sites in nine counties in the southwestern corridor of Georgia. I am on staff at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and provide outpatient primary care to patients in Baker, Dougherty, and Dooly counties. I serve the Ethics committee at Phoebe Putney Memorial hospital. I am an active member of the American College of Physicians and the local Georgia chapter of the ACP. Prior to returning to Albany in 2009, I was a Program Director/Medical Officer in the Office of Minority Health Research Coordination in the National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) in the National Institutes of Health (NIH). I enjoy public speaking, especially health education for lay communities. I am strongly interested in chronic disease prevention and health promotion in minority populations. I have two beautiful daughters and enjoy spending time in my community and with family and friends.
