As a Human Resources Specialist here at Extension, I work tirelessly to ensure a successful onboarding and employment experience for all of Extension’s consultants and internal employees along with supporting the overall HR-related initiatives of the company.

-Investigates Associate Employee files and report all relevant unemployment issues to affected state agency-Prepares for and attends up to 45 Wisconsin and Illinois unemployment hearings a year including gathering documents and preparing witnesses-Responds to state adjudicator phone calls, faxes, and messages by deadlines ensuring all information provided is accurate and applicable-Develope training tailored to QPS branches on unemployment laws and how to properly apply it to QPS daily functions-Conducts training with QPS new hires and current employees at headquarters and branch offices-Acts as main contact on unemployment questions or issues for QPS staff

-Enter over 350 unemployment determinations per month into individual associate employee files-Investigated when QPS was erroneously charge for unemployment benefits-Responded to employee and adjudicator phone calls, faxes, and messages in a timely manner ensuring all information provided was accurate and applicable-Performed various administrative functions, including filing paperwork, sorting mail, and data entry

-Processed up to 80 employee applications per day, ensuring for accuracy of sensitive information-Ran background checks for associate employees per specific client requirements-Acted as main contact to the third party vendor conducting the background checks-Assisted in accurately filing confidential employee applications

- Assists in the recruitment of new employees including sourcing candidates - Schedules interviews and coordinates travel arrangements for candidates traveling from out of state. - Conducts employee reference checks - Processes new hire background checks- Maintains and updates company documents- Keeps employee files up to date and accurate- Organizes employee outings and company events
