The Chicago Defender Newspaper is now The Chicago Defender Media Group and is owned by Real Times Media, Inc. We are a 112 year old African American newspaper which also offers digital advertising via our website and social media platforms.In my capacity I oversee all operations including P&L responsibilities; revenue; editorial content; staffing and social responsibility. Relaunched Chicago Defender Newspaper to Chicago Defender Media effectively making it a digital daily. Leveraged relationships with digital providers with large digital following to increase web and social media traffic; Identified twelve unique voices to enhance editorial offerings; increased coverage of local stories; created new special events all to increase revenue.
